What is the Rancho Jireh Program?

Rancho Jireh Foster Homes—A Special Ministry For Special Families

Rancho Jireh Foster Homes, a non-profit Christian foster family agency, serves the needs of abused and neglected children. Founded in 1988, Rancho Jireh has successfully placed hurting children with Christian families in San Diego and Riverside counties who have opened their homes and their hearts. These families provide individualized care and nurturing, helping children heal and blossom to their true potential. Foster children experience safe, loving homes while foster parents enjoy a unique and rewarding experience in a much-needed ministry to children.

Both short-term and long-term placements are available.

Rancho Jireh is a ministry of Thessalonika Family Services (TFS) headquartered in Temecula, California. TFS has two separate support programs for abused, neglected, and emotionally disturbed children—small group homes, and the foster family agency of Rancho Jireh. Programs offered by TFS represent a continuum of care to provide individualized support and treatment for children in the following areas— social and emotional development, academic progress, personal hygiene and grooming, and independent living skills.

Teamwork—Rancho Jireh Families are NOT Alone.

Successful foster parenting requires teamwork. The professional staff at Rancho Jireh work diligently to provide the support families need to enjoy success with the children in their care. Extensive training helps prepare families for the challenges of meeting a child's individual needs. A well trained, Master's level Rancho Jireh social worker provides weekly support visits and foster parents have access to 24-hour support for crisis intervention and emergencies. Together, social workers and foster parents strive to meet each child's spiritual, physical, emotional, and academic needs.

Help is Urgently Needed—You Can Be Part of the Solution.

Every day, children are removed from homes due to abuse or neglect and taken to already over-loaded emergency shelters. These children are often bounced about like ping pong balls. As children move from one place to another, they experience instability and hopelessness, developmental delays, and emotional trauma.

Children are precious to Jesus; He welcomed the little children into his arms. His heart goes out to the abused and neglected children of this world. Jesus exhorts,

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14

Perhaps God is calling you to open your heart and home to fulfill this command. Psalm 82:3-4 calls us to "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." It is our desire at Rancho Jireh Foster Homes to answer this mandate by equipping Christian families to care for the needs of foster children. Will you consider joining us in God's work?
